Meet the Biostimulator Team

This site is led by Ke He, MD, who assesses every plan and is responsible for the medical content. The other three physicians contribute the surgical, refinement and dermatologic perspectives that a biostimulator assessment draws on.

Deputy Director & Head of Skin & Laser Aesthetics · Attending Physician, Licensed Aesthetic Attending · Lead Physician of This Site

Collagen biostimulators · tissue-quality assessment · staged injectable planning

Dr. Ke He is Deputy Director of the Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics Medical Center at Chongqing West District Hospital and head of its skin and laser aesthetic service — and she is the lead physician of this site. A core specialist formerly at the Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery Department of Xinqiao Hospital, affiliated with Army Medical University, she has worked on the clinical front line in skin laser and injectable aesthetics for more than 20 years, serving over ten thousand patients.

Her method with a biostimulator is assessment before injection and photographs before opinion. She maps tissue quality and volume by zone, decides whether the problem is one a biostimulator reaches at all, and stages the plan across visits with the intervals written down. Because material cannot be dissolved, she treats the first session as a test of tolerance and technique rather than as a correction, judges the result against standardised photographs, and says plainly when the honest answer is filler, a device, an operation or nothing. When a nodule or a delayed reaction appears, the assessment and its management stay with her, and the tertiary-hospital department behind her is where anything unusual is worked up.

Clinical focus

  • Tissue-quality and volume assessment by facial zone before any injectable plan
  • Collagen biostimulator course planning: session count, intervals and stopping rules
  • Recognition and management of nodules, granulomas and delayed inflammatory reactions
  • Combination planning with hyaluronic-acid fillers and skin-quality treatment
  • Honest referral to surgery or energy-based treatment when a device will not reach the problem

Academic roles & achievements

  • Member, Laser Medicine Group, Chinese Medical Association Plastic Surgery Branch
  • Member, Facial Rejuvenation Group, Chinese Medical Association Plastic Surgery Branch
  • Member, Chongqing Plastic Surgery Quality Control Center
  • Published 5 papers, holds 5 national patents, and introduced 2 new clinical techniques

The first session is not the correction

With a biostimulator the first session tests tolerance, placement and technique, and the course does the work. Planning it any other way is how patients end up over-treated in an area that cannot be dissolved.

Shaoliang Wang

Shaoliang Wang (王韶亮)

Director, Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics Medical Center · Vice Chief Physician, Associate Professor, Doctor of Medicine

Plastic surgery · surgical perspective · tertiary-hospital backstop

Dr. Shaoliang Wang is Director of the Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics Medical Center at Chongqing West District Hospital. Within the team he provides the surgical perspective: the judgement of when descent, excess skin or a feature concern is better served by an operation than by any course of injections, and the tertiary-hospital surgical backstop behind the centre’s aesthetic work.

That backstop matters more with a biostimulator than with a filler, because material that cannot be dissolved occasionally has to be dealt with rather than waited out. When that happens, the operating room, anaesthesiology and inpatient care are in the same building.

Clinical focus

  • Center leadership and multidisciplinary case review
  • Surgical assessment when an operation is the honest answer to descent or excess skin
  • Hospital-based care for the rare complication that needs theatre-level management
Tongchun Mao

Tongchun Mao (毛彤春)

Deputy Director & Head of Aesthetic Surgery · Vice Chief Physician, Licensed Aesthetic Attending

Aesthetic surgery · refinement · honest referral

Dr. Tongchun Mao is an aesthetic surgeon within the Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics Medical Center at Chongqing West District Hospital. Within the team his role is refinement and judgement: knowing when a diffuse injectable plan will not achieve what an operation can, and saying so before a course is paid for rather than after it.

He also contributes the surgical view on asymmetry and contour, which is often the concern a patient brings when what they actually want is a change in shape — the one thing a biostimulator is least able to deliver.

Clinical focus

  • Aesthetic surgical assessment and refinement of contour and asymmetry
  • Honest referral when surgery outperforms a course of injections
  • Shared case planning within the four-physician team
Yongbo Jia

Yongbo Jia (贾勇波)

Deputy Director & Head of Dermatology · Vice Chief Physician, Licensed Aesthetic Attending

Dermatology · skin assessment · pigment and barrier care

Dr. Yongbo Jia is a dermatologist within the Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics Medical Center at Chongqing West District Hospital. Within the team his role is the skin itself: medical assessment of skin health before any injectable plan, diagnosis and management of pigment and barrier conditions, and dermatologic care when skin has been irritated or has reacted.

He is also the physician who distinguishes a skin problem from a volume problem. Surface texture, pigment and barrier damage are treated at the level of the skin, and a biostimulator given for a concern that was never a volume concern is a treatment that will disappoint.

Clinical focus

  • Medical skin assessment behind injectable treatment plans
  • Diagnosis and management of pigment and barrier conditions
  • Dermatologic care of skin after irritation or a delayed reaction

Ready to discuss whether a biostimulator course is right for you?

Reach out for a consultation. We will assess tissue quality and volume by zone, explain what a course can and cannot change, and say plainly when filler, a device, an operation or nothing at all is the better answer.
